It’s been a while since I’ve posted here, and that’s in large part because I’ve been busy with some long projects. This is only a sampling, and I’ll have a more detailed post later. But for now, here are some snippets and news…
I have this piece out, “Bars for Life,” on queer sex offenders and sex offender registries.
I did this interview with Beth Richie, on her new book about the Prison Nation, gender, and violence.
I wrote this piece, “ENDA: We Hardly Know Ya,” on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, and why it won’t help queers as much as we think it will.
Here’s my piece on Jason Collins and how it actually might not get better.
And I wrote this, about HRC, that ubiquitous red equal sign, and the facade of a grassroots movement.
The BBC did this interview with Against Equality, on gays against gay marriage, and I’m quoted on the history of this “movement.”
I was interviewed by Free Press Houston about AE and my views on the gay movement, and you can read that piece here.
There’s more, and I’ll post again soon. Among other pieces, look for an autopsy of the Illinois gay marriage fuck-up and a new piece on HIV criminalisation and sex offender registries.
Finally: Thanks to the overwhelming support of so many, I’ve been able to pitch away and have more projects lined up. While things are better, they’re still tight — so if you’ve got a bit to spare, and would like to support my work, please donate if you can, or spread these links around!
