Every weekday, I post–on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram–an essay (sometimes more than one) from my archive , along with new work published that week. I realised it might make sense to compile these links at the end of every week, so that readers who missed them at the time can catch up. Here’s an archive of these posts.
You’re welcome to follow me on any of these social media platforms, but please note that I’m no longer accepting new friend requests on FB unless I’ve met you and know you personally. You can, however, still follow me there without us directly “friending” each other.
Here are links to what I posted December 11-16.
I added a link to my NEW Gift Subscriptions tab. Happy Hols!
I wrote a brand new essay, “Everyone Needs a Course on Taylor Swift.”
“Gay Marriage Ruined Everything.”
“Hannah Gadsby, Then and Now.“
A Current Affairs podcast on the Minions, yes, those minions: “Can the Minions Tell Us Anything?“
And another, equally hilarious Current Affairs podcast: Nathan J. Robinson, Lily Sánchez and I took Hillary Clinton’s MasterClass on, who knows, whatever: “We Took Hillary Clinton’s MasterClass So That You Don’t Have To.”
I’ve got this weirdly infected thumb that has been a literal pain (and makes typing very awkward). It got so bad that I resorted to asking for help on FB, something I ordinarily never do, and all the sage advice is helping. I posted a pic on IG, and it’s the least gross version of this appendage. When it’s finally healed, I’ll write about the ordeal and the journey. Anyway, the pain and persistent fever has meant a slight delay in an announcement (timed for the holidays), but more next week.
After that, there will not be any more DPs till around the second week of the new year. Happy Hols! May all your (safe) gatherings have the energy of those cats.
Here’s some information on the illustrator, Louis Wain.
